Vagal nerve stimulation for obesity

Vagal nerve stimulation (VNS) is a promising technique for managing obesity by modulating the communication between the gut and brain. The vagus nerve regulates feelings of hunger and fullness, impacting food intake and weight. VNS works by applying electrical impulses to the vagus nerve, which can decrease appetite and promote satiety. Unlike some invasive obesity treatments, VNS is minimally invasive, and studies show it may effectively reduce cravings and help with long-term weight loss. By altering the brain's perception of hunger, VNS holds potential for sustainable obesity management, offering an innovative approach to address obesity beyond traditional dietary and lifestyle changes.
